US-based company NEXTBIT has launched its cloud-based smartphone Robin in India. Priced at Rs 19,999, Robin is said to be the the world's first cloud-based smartphone.
The Nextbit phone comes with a 'Smart Storage Feature', which enables the device to free up space by backing up apps and photos to the cloud, and archiving the least-used apps in case the space runs out.
Robin leaves thumbnails of all archived content on the smartphone, making it easy for users to restore them with just a tap.
As for specifications, Nextbit Robin sports a 5.2-inch Full HD display with 1080x1920 pixel resolution. The display is protected with Corning Gorilla Glass 4. The smartphone is equipped with a fingerprint sensor and runs Andriod 6.0 Marshmallow operating system.
Nextbit Robin is powered by a hexa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 808 processor coupled with 3GB RAM. It comes with 32GB internal storage and 100GB of cloud storage. There's a 13MP rear camera with LED flash and a 5MP front-facing camera for selfies. Connectivity options include 4G, LTE, 3G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, NFC and GPS. The phone houses a 2,680 mAh battery with Quick Charge support.
