UK companies offering leave to love your pet

Ever felt sad to leave your lovely pet behind when you have to go to work !

And it could be difficult to pamper a pet while attending a full time job. Here's where UK companies came forward with an innovative idea to soothe animal lovers. That is called 'pawternity leave'. Pet parents can pull out of work to care for their furry friends and the duration varies from company to company.

As per Public Radio International (PRI), 60 percent of the UK's population being pet owners, more people are embracing the idea, so that bonding between pets and it's owners will grow up. BitSol Solutions, a tech support company run by Greg Buchanan, in which employees are allowed to take one week of paid leave in the name of pet parenthood. Buchanan said "We are quite sympathetic to pets in the UK. Obviously, we take it on a case-by-case decision,” states Buchanan. “If somebody’s asking for time off for a goldfish, no, no. That’s not quite what we set out for.”

When Buchanan first adopted his second dog, he came to experience the importance of this leave. “We got a puppy from a rescue home and we realized it needed to be looked after properly, so I took a week off to ensure it was welcomed into the home, and to set boundaries for the dogs,” he told USA Today. “My dog is now better for it.” This is the pushing force behind Buchanan's idea to offer his employees the same opportunity. This seems to be a better turn in pet pampering.
