Samsung India has launched Samsung E.D.G.E. a first-of-its-kind campus program, to provide a platform that gives the country's brightest students at leading B-schools and engineering colleges an opportunity to get a head-start in their careers.



The program is designed to engage with leading B-school and engineering talent across India. As part of the program, students will get an opportunity to interact with the leadership team at Samsung, work on real-world business problems and come up with their unique solutions.

Facebook Come Up With New Feature To Help Charities

FACEBOOK ,has come up with a new feature that can help nonprofits and charity organisations to raise money for the causes they care about, the company said.

Several months after the social network launched a new "fundraiser" feature for nonprofits to collect donations, Facebook announced it has expanded the tool to individual users.



The tool is now available to 1% of US users standard for new Facebook products in order to gather feedback and make sure there are not any bugs but it will roll out to all US users in the coming weeks.



The new fundraisers are the latest feature from Facebook's Social Good team, which officially launched in September 2015 and is the force behind tools like Safety Check anFocusing on products aimed at crisis response and charitable giving, the team now hopes to break down barriers and empower people to use the tools it is building.



"We had Facebook fundraising for nonprofits with International Media Corpsin Nepal and then last year... nonprofits could fundraise for themselves," Naomi Gleit, vice president of product management for Social good at Facebook, said in a statement.

"But the real vision has always been people fundraising for nonprofits."

The inspiration for the tool came from the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge, which went viral in 2014. Facebook saw people raising money and awareness, but the ALS Association told Facebook that it couldn't handle the volume of traffic to its website, nor could it accept international currencies.

Now, users will be able to donate directly through Facebook or start their own campaigns.d Amber Alerts.

Pebble Launches new Smaart Watches in India

US-based smartwatch maker Pebble Technology Corporation on Thursday launched four smartwatches -- starting from Rs 5,999 -- for technology lovers in India.

The company's Pebble Classic (Rs 5,999), Pebble Time (Rs 9,999), Pebble Time Steel (Rs 13,599) and Pebble Time Round (Rs 15,999) variants are available on Amazon.in.

"We see a promising future for Pebble in India. Our unique products offer amazing experience at an affordable price point to the users. We are also looking at establishing a connected community of users and developers in India," Pebble founder and CEO Eric Migicovsky said in a statement.

Pebble Classic comes with a 1.26-inch ePaper display -- an ultra-low-powered Sharp LCD with a 144x168-pixel resolution. Once fully charged, Pebble Classic can run for seven days.

Opera Rolls Out Free and Unlimited VPN App For iOS

"OPERA"- Releases a New Feature for its web browser,Opera Software today announced that it will offer a free virtual private network (VPN) app for iOS devices.

"If you own an iPhone or iPad, the free Opera VPN app can help you enhance your online privacy, access more content and extend the reach of your apps,” the company wrote in a statement. “This is especially relevant on campuses and workplaces as people often experience restricted access to social media and video-streaming Web sites.” 

App represents the first full, free VPN application from Opera, although the company recently made headlines by announcing that it had embedded a free, native VPN client in a developer version of its desktop browser that would offer users unlimited data usage. 

VPN app will offer iOS device users a number of different advantages, particularly with respect to privacy. Enabling the Opera VPN on an iPhone or iPad will remove ad-tracking cookies that often track users as they browse the Web, which can be potentially damaging to companies working on confidential projects. 

Of course, the app would also have some effects that enterprises are less likely to appreciate.

App will also allow users to choose the location of their IP addresses. This can be important in cases where users want to access content, particularly video, that may be geo-restricted depending on where the user is located. 

App will offer users five different locations: U.S., Canada, Germany, Singapore, and the Netherlands. It will also be supported in a number of different languages, including English, Arabic, French, German, Indonesian, Japanese, Portuguese, Russian, and Spanish. 

But despite their popularity, VPNs can remain difficult or expensive to use. They can also come with limitations regarding the amount of data users can transfer via the service. 

PANIC APP BUTTON FOR MOBILES IN INDIA

Delhi-based Mobile Standards Alliance India or MSAI has launched an app that adds panic button almost instantly on all Android smartphones. This comes after the government has made it Mandatory For All Smart Phone makers to install a panic button in handsets sold in India from 2017 onwards.

Called I Feel Safe app, it is available for all Android mobile phones The app requires users to press the power button of any Android phones 5 times repeatedly in a row to activate it. It can work even when the phone is locked.

INDIAN OS GAVE A BLOW TO APPLE & MICROSOFT

        Mumbai-based Indus OS, the world's first regional operating system, has overtook Apple and Microsoft and stood second  in the smartphone operating system market.

        Indus OS had a 5.6% share in the total smartphone market during January-March, where Chinese smartphone maker 

Xiaomi's( MIUI operating system) has taken the third position, Cynaogen OS - used by Micromax's subsidiary YU Televentures on five models - is at No 4.Apple's iOS is in 5th position and Microsoft's Windows along with Samsung's Tizen OS shared 7th position.

"We have targeted 100 million customers by 2018," said Indus OS CEO Rakesh Deshmukh. The company which started putting its OS in Micromax smartphones about nine months ago, aims to put its OS in one in every six phones sold in the country by 2017.14 Lakhs of these phones out of 24.8 million smartphones sold, were running on Indus OS

not only to converse but also as in their smartphones.

Google's New project FI

Fi , is a Google's long-rumored program to provide fast and easy cellular service directly to phones. It works by combining access to both T-mobile and sprint, with a SIM card that can actively switch between the two without any user intervention.
Project Fi also leans on Wifi, and lets you both call and text when connected to a Wifi network. Special software on the phone also automatically connects the phone to open Wifi networks to help limit your mobile data usage, and when it does so also routes your traffic through a Google VPN for safety and connection stability.
Project Fi is a prepaid phone service, so you pay at the start of each billing cycle based on how much data you intend to use.
currently these feature is available only on NEXUS 6,NEXUS 6P,NEXUS 5X phones.
